It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

We have been enjoying many fun fall activities with our friends :)

Joseph is continuing to make progress with sitting, holding his head up and looking up. We are really pushing him to do movements the correct way and weight bear. He needs to really train his body how to do these things properly before he gets too much bigger and forms bad habits. Jordan is still attending her school Tuesday/Thursday and we added a new school Monday, Wednesday, Friday. I had a pretty bad past week and a half. I took a step back & spoke with our pastor/counselor and expressed what all is still going on daily in our house & was advised to find a place where Jordan can thrive. I know it is better for her to be in a place where she does not have to listen to Joseph cry through therapy, get drug around to dr appointments, case manager appointments, insurance phone calls, etc. I really took a step back and looked at what all I was doing and decided that this is the best decision for our family. God totally provided a place for her at First Protestant. She is with a teacher that I knew from when I worked there. She is firm & loving which is exactly what Jordan needs. Jordan had some adjusting to new rules & how they run their day, yet wants to go back & has not stopped talking about it since she left.
It was a huge relief Friday to be able to get through 2 appointments, run to the hhsc office, and other errands without having huge melt downs with Jordan.

Jordan attended her first Aristocat dance clinic & was able to perform before the Canyon Cougar Homecoming Football game. We brought her cheering team along with us. Halle said "oh I am doing this next year." Haven & Hazel's response when I asked them if next year they wanted dance was - no I can watch.

Slumber Party!

Our thanksgiving week was full of family, friends, and fun! We started the week celebrating the life of Joey's grandmother, MiMi. Jordan loved being with all her cousins and playing! She asks everyday when we can go back to see them.

I had the opportunity to go see the Brierty family! I can not tell you how excited I was to spend time with them. Yes, when I got there I cried. It had been way to long since I saw the sweet kids that I love so much! Jordan & Joseph felt right at home & Jordan had Ashley promise she can come back another day :) The pictures below are 10 years apart! Crazy!

Tea &Tangled Party with Meg & Olivia! We enjoyed our time we spent at the Chalupa's house :)

Thanksgiving was a great time! We had a baby shower for Travis & Tarasa's baby :)

Neurologist Appointment

Joseph saw Dr. Ghodsi in Austin yesterday. He is a great neurologist & we will be seeing him again in the future! He said Joseph has hypotonia (low tone) which is what we already knew from the other doctors and therapists. He has a global developmental delay (all areas are delayed) He said that the mri he had at 2 months doesn't show anything causing this delay. He had us check his thyroid (we will get results today I think) & referred us to a Pediatric Metabolic Geneticist, Dr. Gibson. He will be able to further test Joseph through blood work & urine analysis. He will be the last stop to check and see if we can figure out why Joseph has hypotonia. If everything comes back normal, then we will know without a doubt that he has this due to being squished inside me and the birth. He suspects that this is the case.

I spoke with the nurse at Dr. Fierro's office (developmental pediatrician) She told me that the blood work they did was normal. His ck level was 52 & normal. His chromosome was normal male genomic. These results will assist Dr. Gibson when we see him.

Like I have said in pervious posts, God created Joseph they way he did & our job here is to love him and help him get better. He has made tremendous strides already this week after surgery. He has been sitting better and even weight bearing on his hands while leaning forward! Yeah Broseph!

We are all still a work in progress & continually remind ourselves to focus on God and the eternal perspective not the worldly view of life.

Love you all!

Welcome November!

Happy November! We are doing wonderful! Joseph had his procedure & it went really well. He has been rolling like crazy and scooting. we are supposed to scoop him up to pick him up instead of lifting under his arms for a whole week. I am getting a work out! He can play, roll, etc just no bouncy seat or horse therapy for a week. We were home in time to pick up Jordan for school. She was excited about it being Halloween so she could dress up as Tangled! She had everything all ready to go. She was pumped to say the least :)
Jordan & I went with the Davidson's & Magga's to Oakwood's festival ; the boys stayed home and rested. Joseph was a Giraffe for a few minutes to get the pictures and celebrate.
