Happy Summer 2014

Summer Time! I love summer, especially living in New Braunfels - the river, Schlitterbahn, swimming pools, ice cream - it is the absolute best :)

We are doing well & enjoying some time with friends & family. Jordan has continued to attend pre-school at First Protestant. she loves her friends & teachers. Her latest accomplishment is writing her name & learning her letters. She had a dance recital earlier this month & completed 2 weeks of swim lessons. She loves to swim and has learned the front crawl regular swimming), back floating with kicking & the breast stroke.

Joseph continues to make progress & is doing well adjusting to having 8 therapy sessions per week. He added vital stem therapy to improve his muscles in the mouth & throat that assist in swallowing properly. He is improving by leaps & bounds. He doesn't mind it all because he eats through the entire session. We have a company that is servicing his needs at home. This is a huge answer to prayer. He has had another MRI that showed his 3rd and lateral ventricles in his brain were mildly enlarged. We have seen a neurosurgeon & she said it is extremely slight enlargement. He does not require any action to be taken at this time. He has another MRI in December to check again & see what has developed in 6 months. The neurosurgeon was extremely helpful & discussed CP (Cerebral Palsy)  as a diagnosis for him based on the definition which is any trauma to the baby during pregnancy, delivery or right after birth that affects muscle movement & physical developmental delay. I have since called back to the office & am praying that the neurosurgeon diagnoses him with that in order to allow us to receive assistance with his care. This diagnosis was brought to the attention of a neurologist last summer & he felt it was too early at that point to diagnosis him with that & his therapists didn't see any indications of CP last summer. He has had a ct scan of his sinuses to determine a plan off action as far as any surgery or the best route to take in order to keep his sinus issues under control. He will have a whole xome done in a few weeks. Our insurance will be covering at 100%. Joey & I will get blood drawn as well that day.
He is sitting quite a bit longer unsupported & loves to jump in the bouncer we have for him.

Swimming Lessons & Schlitterbahn

Can You Feel the Love Tonight?

Jordan performed her ballet dance to the Lion King's - Can You Feel the Love Tonight. She did wonderful and was a beautiful ballerina! We are so proud of how well she can perform. She made huge progress through out the year and became quite the tap & ballet dancer. In typical Kammerer household fashion - Joseph had an allergic reaction to his antibiotic the night before the rehearsal which lead to an ER visit and a dr. visit the day of the rehearsal. Thank God for awesome - Ya Ya - who took her to rehearsal & was my right hand woman for the day. The amazing Nanny stepped in that evening and took a shift so I could sleep. We have the absolute best Grandparents ever :)

Happy Easter! He is Risen!
